Did you know that it took five years and a lot of $100 checks for Darren Aronofsky to raise the nearly $60,000 needed to make his debute movie – “Pi”. Being avarded MFA in directing from the AFI Conservatory and with his thesis made it to the final for the Student Academy Award, Aranovsky approached “friends, family, enemies, everyone” with a promise to convert their money into a small profit if the film succed. Well, it did. Artisan Entertainment bought the “Pi” movie for over $1 million.
